Techykid.com, which runs on the WordPress, has upgraded to 2.7 immediately after the latest version of the WordPress CMS was released. One of the major changes done on 2.7 is its Dashboard#8217;s new feel and look. The first time I saw the 2.7 Dashboard in action was during the WordCamp 2008 in Manila. Site Referrer Info
I’ve finally gotten around to implementing a blog function that I’ve long wanted to incorporate into my blogs: a greet box to personalize my readers’ experience. You can see this in popular blogs such as Weblog Tools Collection. The reason for needing this is, I’ve decided to consolidate all my online contact forms [...]

This how-to is important for blogs that have multiple authors, but works for single-author blogs as well. If your WordPress blog doesn’t have the author.php template, then this might just be for you. It’s a good way to promote your blog by providing your readers with juicier information about yourself (and your co-authors). This works [...]

[UPDATED]
After two successful Mindanao Bloggers Summits, the MindanaoBloggers.com site has now undergone a complete redesign. The community blog debuted with the Darn Slick Gadgets WordPress theme by Andrew dela Serna, plus Jojie Alcantara’s awesome photos for the header.
For posterity, here’s that brilliant header that we’ve all enjoyed seeing on the MindanaoBloggers.com blog for about one [...]

Warning: geeky content!
When WordPress 2.6.5 was released yesterday, that ‘Oh no, not again!’ sinking feeling was quite overwhelming this time. You see, I have 20-something WordPress installations already — imagine the time and effort it would take to upgrade all of them. Even if there was the WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin, that would still mean [...]

I began this site in February 2008, but delayed blogging about DavaoTechJobs.com because I wasn’t quite sure yet how I’d go about presenting it to the world. The objective, however, was clear from the start: to provide a venue for both job seekers and employment providers.
At first, I just used the blog system to post [...]

As you know, I have just switched themes on this blog. On another one, which turned one year old today, I changed the default header image. I also completed some back-end optimizing for all my blogs, which took practically all of my spare time yesterday and today. Housekeeping, if you like.
I was pleasantly surprised just [...]

Welcome to the new look and feel of my personal blog!!!
I’d gotten tired of the old one already, although it did serve me well. Truth is, when I chose that old theme, it was simply meant to be temporary while I hunted around for a more suitable one. But my other blogs got more attention [...]

Ever since Matt started talking about the WordCamp Philippines 2008 T-shirt design, the buzz hasn’t quite died down yet, even months after the event. Today I got a trackback to the WCP site from WordCamp Ed D.C. (WordCamp Ed is an initiative that’s focused on promoting the educational uses of WordPress.)
The post is about their [...]

I know this post is rather late, but I don’t want to pass off blogging about this!
The WordCamp Philippines official blog site was acclaimed the best website in the Events / Conferences category of this year’s DigitalFilipino Web Awards. Needless to say, I feel really proud of this award. It adds to the [...]

I’d never really considered using 3rd-party services to host and manage my blogs’ comments. But, ever since I heard about the Automattic acquisition of Intense Debate — a hosted solution for comments / discussions — I thought it was time to do so. Besides, since my blogs are on WordPress, Intense Debate wouldn’t really be [...]

In March 2007, PC World declared Matt Mullenweg as 16th out of the 50 most important people on the Web. And a few days ago, BusinessWeek released their own list of the most influential people on the Web: Matt is one of the top 25. This prestigious magazine has dubbed him “The Publisher” for [...]

The recently-concluded WordCamp Philippines 2008, the first international bloggers event in the country, was a success in several ways. Foremost is the learning that the participants were able to go through during the whole exercise. Judging by the blog posts after WordCamp, the campers certainly appreciated what they came for.
Second, it was a success for [...]
