About the Davao Blogspace
The Davao Blogspace is the home of weblogs in, of, about, related to Davao City and her people. It is the home of all Dabawenyo bloggers on the Web. The purpose of the Blogspace is to create a unified space for all such blogs, and to provide the Davao blogosphere with a strong presence on the Internet. The Blogspace was created by Oliver “Blogie” Robillo in February 2007, with the initial aim of creating an online community of Davao bloggers.
This blog aggregator site was hosted during its first 6 months of existence by Cerveo Internet Solutions, courtesy of Dennis Agulo. Today, DavaoBlogs.com is being generously hosted by Robert “Mindanao Bob” Martin. Technical support for WordPress and other stuff is ably provided by Joseph Lang. The Davao Blogspace’s “Davao Blog Ako!” badge was designed by the award-winning designer, Ray Rubio, of Cubepixels Design Studio.
Our logo was created by Eric Clark Su, who won in the Blogspace’s logo design contest. His definition of the Davao Blogspace logo goes like this: Callout — symbolizes the blogosphere; Keyboard keys — this represents bloggers and their activities online, arranged to form the letter ‘D’ to convey how bloggers collectively open up new perspectives into the wonderful city of Davao; Durian — representative of the Davao culture and heritage.
Contained here are listings and excerpts of Davao’s blogs and their owners / authors. Membership in the Blogspace is open to blogs and bloggers who fit the description above. There are also blog-related articles, and how-to guides that are targeted towards beginners who would like to take up the art of blogging.
This aggregator site of some of the best of Davao’s blogs welcomes anyone who’s looking to find out more about our beloved city’s culture, history, current events, people and more. We also welcome anyone who would like to know how to start blogging, whether as a hobby or as a means of making some serious money.
