That our Lord’s plans are more sublime.
Why not trust that His main concern
Is our Life for eternal time?
Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea […]

Believing in ET is OK

Hey, great news. The Vatican announced that believing in aliens is not contradictory to the teachings of the Church.
Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, said that aliens would still be God’s creatures. Ruling out the existence of aliens would be like “putting limits” on God’s creative freedom.

I […]

Davao-Samal bridge: at what cost?

In last Monday’s issue of Edge Davao, my fellow columnist, Mr. Aurelio Peña of Trading Post, wrote about the planned bridge that will span the gulf from mainland Davao to the island of Samal. We haven’t even finished rebuilding Bankerohan Bridge yet… but I digress.
Mr. Peña’s article was entitled “Arab money to build Davao-Samal bridge“. […]

Brotherhood Love

John 15: 9-17
Acts 1: 15-17. 20-26 / Ps 113: 1-8
This is my commandment: Love one another.
(John 15:17)
What joy to follow God’s command,
To love, here we have understood;
For many decades, it will stand
The test of time, our brotherhood.
“As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my […]

Just in time…

The weather is cooperating by giving a great shade with not much heat coming from the sun. Indeed, no sunburn to anticipate and I just dipped into the clear waters of Canibad Beach Resort.

The Place…

It was 11 in the morning when I got to Canibad because I […]

Monday: Transport Strike, Work and Food

I decided I’d do a five-post series about my last five days in Davao. I’ll be leaving for Cebu this Saturday and I want to keep track on how I will spend my five remaining days.
It’s Monday. There is a nation-wide transport strike going on. I can somehow see its effect. The city […]

A Circle

Before I tell you about the second part of our April Tour..

I’ll post this tag first:

This was a tag from my good friend Ate Mari

*Circle of Friends*

Anger is only one letter short of danger
If someone betrays you once, it is his fault;
If he betrays you twice, it is your fault.
Great minds discuss ideas;
Average minds discuss events;
Small minds discuss people.
He, who loses money, loses much;
He, who loses a friend, loses much more;
He, who loses faith, loses all.
Beautiful young people are accidents of nature,
But beautiful old people are works of art.
Learn from the mistakes of others
You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.
Friends, you and me…
You brought another friend…
And then there were 3…
We started our group…
Our circle of friends…
And like that circle…
There is no beginning or end…
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is mystery.
Today is a gift.

I’m tagging anyone who wants to do this… :)

All the best!

*got to start our practice for our June RSA

Leaven: False Concerns

Mark 8: 14-21
Jas 1: 12-18 / Ps 94: 12-13a, 14-15, 18-19
Do you not yet perceive or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear?
(Mark 8:16-17)
How does one fathom God’s kingdom?
Its mysteries who can perceive?
Let’s pray for the Spirit’s wisdom,
To open our hearts and believe.
They had […]

Cebu Pacific opens Davao hub

Great news for us down South!
Cebu Pacific, the leading domestic airline in the Philippines, has inaugurated its operations hub in Davao City last 8 May 2008, to further serve the island of Mindanao. Hopefully this will mean more air routes to the “missionary” destinations on the island. This is the carrier’s third hub, after […]

Puting Bato of IGACOS

Nearing Peak

My last mountain climb was on March 20-23, 2008 at Mount Dulang-Dulang, Bukidnon. I was itching to do a minor climb and I decided to hike the mountain of Samal which they called Puting Bato.

I was at the Sta. Ana wharf bus terminal  at around 6:30 and […]

Movements in WordCamp Phils. planning

I’m not going to post this on the WordCamp Philippines blog just yet, because it’s not yet definite. However, we might have to move the event date in order to accommodate certain factors. End-October would’ve been a good time, but it seems it’s not meant to be.
No problem, really, if the date were changed — […]

Goldilocks and the Tables

I feel like Goldilocks today, sifting through different tables because I’m looking for the perfect work table. The perfect work table for me could be defined as one having a low height difference between the table top and the floor.

The current table I have was too high. Not wanting to be the future […]

Wii Night Update: Just Received My Second BlogBank Check!

Eight lucky bloggers received their first quarter BlogBank earnings during the BlogBank’s Wii Night at Red Box, Greenbelt 3. Macuha.com, Codamon.com, BaklaAko.com, Man-Blog.com, OurAwesomePlanet.com, RebelPixel.com and I forgot the rest. I’ll update this post once I remembered the remaining bloggers who received their first quarter check. Hehe. My BlogBank Check SnapShot.

Filipino mobile platform, anyone?

I agree with one of my favorite tech news sources (TechCrunch.com) that the next technology war will be fought in the realm of mobile platforms. In the dawn of OS-agnostic and Web-deployed applications, the old operating-systems war seems to be finally fizzling out. (A rather anticlimactic denouement, if you ask me.)
Microsoft and Apple have […]
